This EP is a great milestone for the artist, being his first release on DHB records! Needless to say, Heilan immediately feels at home in the label’s roster, and this EP definitely showcases the artist’s potential. He even teamed up with label mates NICKO///// and Divestorm, who curated some amazing remixes to make Faraya even more of a special release. This new studio work is a must for any Deep House fan.
The first song, “Faraya” has an amazing texture at the core of the production. The arrangement feels like it’s constantly on the rise, aiding an emotional crescendo that makes the song all the more massive and easy to relate to.
The remix by NICKO///// brings even more texture and vibe to the mix. The huge sound of this remix is incredibly focused and forward-thinking, and there is something truly special about how things fall into place so seamlessly while still staying true to the vibes of the original mix.
The second track, “Dourada” has a different flavor. It kicks off with a more minimalistic approach, allowing the kick pattern to rule the flow of the arrangement. This song has a darker twist, and it has a bit of an industrial edge to it.
The remix by Divestorm has a more ambient feel. The mesmerizing pads and textures, as well as the melodic synth lines take the arrangement somewhere else.
Overall, Faraya is a very interesting and one-of-a-kind production. All the songs are very coherent, but there is also a lot of consistency, bringing some glue and edge to the release. The original mixes, as well as the remix renditions, make for a truly exciting opportunity to branch out and give the audience a very mesmerizing listening experience right off the bat.
The production quality is very immersive. There is something entrancing about how the textures and atmospheric sounds.
